The multidisciplinary approach currently used in our lab is the key to answer several intricate and challenging biological questions in the area of molecular evolution, protein biosynthesis, and molecular biology. The major research project in PC lab concerns a group of enzymes called aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (AARSs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our research interests also extend toward the field of bioconjugate chemistry. Using the new chemical approach, new bioconjugate molecules with different chemical properties are designed and synthesized. These molecules can be used as new chemical linkers for different types of biomolecules including proteins, carbohydrates, DNA, and RNA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bioorganic Chemistry<\/strong><br>Indirect tRNA Aminoacylation in the Human Pathogen Helicobacter Pylori<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ultimate goal of this project is to better understand the indirect aminoacylation pathway used by Helicobacter pylori.
